Walton County is one of the fastest growing counties in the state of GA and the United States. The total population just recently passed 100,000, with a 15% growth rate projected for the next ten years. Walton County will continue to grow beyond the next ten years. The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission predicts the total population will grow to 197,000 by the year 2065.
The Atha Road Elementary community in Walton County, just west of Monroe, has grown over 18% in the past ten years. The current population of a 5-mile radius of the school is 35,808 and is expected to continue to grow another 16% in the next ten years. According to the demographic data collected by the Georgia Mission Board, 80% (28,646) are not part of a local church. The percentage of unchurched residents has skyrocketed in the last 5 years from 66% to 80%. With more people moving into the area, the percentage of unchurched will likely continue to increase. Does Walton County need another church? Absolutely! Probably more than one.
We exist to bring glory to God by Being and Building Fully Trained Disciples of Jesus Christ in Walton County and beyond.
BEING:
The Great Commandment:
Matthew 22:37-39 “He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

MAKE: How can we (I) make disciples of the lost?
Matthew 28:19,20
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Every true believer in Jesus Christ is a disciple. A person becomes a disciple at the moment of salvation. At the heart of the Great Commission to “make disciples” is evangelism. Evangelism is the beginning point of the disciple making process. In the local church evangelism should take place corporately and individually. This means the local church as a whole (corporately) should have an ongoing plan to reach the lost in their community. Our plan to reach the Atha Road Community and Walton County is much like a farmer growing a garden: plowing (prayer), sowing seed (sharing gospel), watering (developing relationships), harvesting (inviting others to follow Jesus). The goal of evangelism is to invite unbelievers to follow Jesus.
Mature: How can we (I) help disciples grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ?
Colossians 1:28,29
“We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.”
Once a person becomes a disciple, we want to help them grow in their faith towards spiritual maturity. We can do this through our large group worship gatherings and small groups. In Worship gatherings, believers can hear biblical preaching and teaching, and be challenged to grow in their walk with Christ. Small groups are key to helping believers grow in their faith and establish relationships with other believers. In a small group, an intentional leader can personalize their discipleship efforts enabling the people in their group to take the next step towards spiritual maturity.

Multiply: How can we (I) equip disciples to make more disciples?
Luke 6:40
“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
Ephesians 4:11,12
“And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,”
Finally, we want to multiply disciple makers through equipping them to minister to others through team-based ministry. We believe that God will use these spiritual leaders to start new small groups, become missionaries, become Pastors, and even start new churches. To achieve this kind of multiplication, specific training for ministry and ongoing leadership training must be a priority.
